He lost his regular spot on June 27th.  And then just had the odd spot start, and didn't play much at all while apparently working hard on his swing.

Once he started playing again on July 21 (I think that is when Zimmerman got hurt), he's been pretty decent with the bat on both sides of the plate I believe, going 10/33 overall for a .303 average with 5 of those hits being for extra bases.  Yesterday was his only multi strikeout game in that span.

I'm going to ask for his autograph left-handed if I see him in a few weeks. See what he does.

Holy crap.

As a point of emphasis here are Espinosa's slash lines from each side this year:

LHB:  .185/.244/.295/.539 (217 PA)
RHB:  .309/.385/.494/.878 (91 PA)

Those stats do not include tonight's game.  The difference is, frankly, astounding and always has been.  Here are the career splits:

LHB:  .214/.285/.365/.650 (1405 PA)
RHB:  .271/.344/.461/.804 (485 PA)

Seriously, a move like this could change his career.
