Has anybody had any luck on getting a deal with price or benefits for this upcoming year? I'm adding a partial in my half-season seats and they seem pretty stubborn about giving me a discount or any additional benefits. Just wondering before I officially renew.

Nothing beyond what they are officially offering.  I upgraded a partial in 405 to a full season in 127 (big bump in spending!) and got 10% off the full season price for next year.  Since you're "upgrading" by buying additional seats, maybe you could ask for the 10% off the new seats.  I think they are only doing it for people going from a partial up to a half or full though.

I doubt if you'll get much because if they cut a deal nowadays it ends up on the internet and everyone want the same deal or better. That being said, if you locked in for three years in 2012 you might be able to get the upgrade at 2012 prices, that's what I did going from 20 to 41 games.  You can also hold out and try to get better seats in the same pricing section as other plan holders upgrade out.

That was the kicker that got me to bump from 20 to 41, I was wavering in whether to cancel or upgrade because the benes aren't worth staying at 21 and I'm able to buy cheap tix on StubHub for just about any game without a bobblehead or concert.

I missed that.  So glad my loyalty since 2005 is appreciated.

It mystifies me why people think that the Nats would give special benefits to plan holders since 2005. How does offering a bonus to long term plan holders encourage the majority of plan holders who bought in more recently to upgrade? How does this perk entice new buyers?  It makes no financial since for the team.

If you bought a plan for the Nats first year back at RFK you have a 2005 season ticket holder pin and a nice big blue box that your tix came in, that's your reward.

They are saying that people who buy a bigger plan are more loyal and will be more loyal in the long term than those who have had a plan since 05.  The associate long term loyalty with size of plan instead of longevity.

You hit it on the head. It's how one defines loyalty. The team defines it as how much you spend in the current year, not how long you've supported the team. I'm not sure how I feel about that since I've been a SPH since 2005 but it makes sense from a business perspective.

I would love to see the team figure out a way to reward long time SPH holders with extra RCR points, giveways, etc. It wouldn't surprise me if they figure out a to do that given the blowback they've received along these lines.

It could be as simple as giving a base amount of RCRs and having a multiplier for the years with the team (1.1 for 1 year, 1.2 for 2, up to 1.5 for 5 or more, for plan holders that go back to the 59 win seasons and held on).

Solved. Next problem.

Seriously, it is really as easy as that to make long-term customers (notice I didn't say loyal) feel appreciated. I think people just want to be recognized. Something as silly as a a pin or Access card that says "SPH since __" would even work for some.

A friend used to have tickets in that section the first two years of the park. Those are excellent seats! Great value.

Totally. I'm in 312 now. Was hoping for 312-314, but nothing there half season wise.

Splitting the second ticket between my wife and friend. Comes out to 15 bucks a seat for me, and 32 for her, so we will save about 3 bucks a seat, plus the 15% ecash plus now 1000 RCR. I ended up paying about 300 more than last year plus way more perks. It probably won't be as good a deal next year without the 10% so I'll reevaluate then.

They should reward both. How much you spend is also cumulative. I have been a full plan owner since the beginning and like some of the things they are doing with this. The problem that partial plan holders have is that the seats are shared. Mathematically it may be impossible to guarantee everyone a playoff seat. But inaugural owners should be front of the line for purchases. With the way they limited full plans sold it seems that they should have a block they can reserve for the longest owners.

they did it in 2012 with no problem, seats were just moved.

Got ahead of the Sept. 5 deadline and just renewed both of my full season plans and also bought postseason ticket scripts for both of them. I did not buy the extra two scripts because I didn't like what they had left in the lower bowl and I'm going to take my chances with SPH presale. I may change my mind though.

It would make my life much easier if the Nats finished with the best record in the NL. That way, we would know exactly how many home games the Nats would be getting right after the season and so I would only have to hold one draft.

314 is the best.  Game notes and scoresheets come fluttering out of the broadcast booth on occasion, and you are far enough from Calsgr8 so you don't lose your hearing

Running two ticket partnership is a pain in the ass, especially come postseason time. (Everyone wants playoff tickets and there's not enough to go around.) So anything that makes my life easier is welcomed.

Looks like they are going to get us to drop the 113 partial plan.  My group / menagerie assures me there's enough interest to fill a full season in the N&S club.  Too bad, because I like the 113 seats more.  There were some decent seats available full season in 128, too, but the weather issue makes the 200s the choice.

This year, because of the 2 locations, we'll be able to get 2 strips.  The partials lose the world series, but that's a first world problem.

As a half season plan holder, this difference in language from the Nats Plus mailer concerns me:

Full Season Membership
Postseason: Seat Guarantee

Half Season Membership
Postseason: Game Guarantee

I want to sit in my normal seats for the postseason in 2015 and beyond.  Who else would get preference?  Full SPH who want to buy additional strips?  That would be BS.
