Nationals-Brewers (6/23 - 6/25) Discussion

Quote
Braun is questionable for Monday's game against the Nationals as he rolled his ankle during Sunday's series finale in Colorado, FOX Sports reports.
Spin: Braun left Sunday's game early, but not before he drew a walk and scored a run. He says that his rolled ankle isn't serious, although Monday's game may turn into a forced rest day for the outfielder.

Should be able to get  to Garza but Gio will struggle again.
Jordan Zimmermann is undefeated in Milwaukee
Estrada is turrible and Strasburg will come out on fire after the Atlanta debacle.

Win 2 out of 3. Maybe a sweep if Gio can get his crap together tonight.

Good. That lineup wins games and freaks nages in the ass. And the Brewers got lots of nages.

Right now Gio is the starter I have the least amount of faith in. Wish it was someone other than him starting us off. And if by chance he does get shelled early I assume Stammen is probably not available.. so that leaves Det.

Gio always gets me on edge.  It's like there's no in between with him. There's really good Gio and really bad Gio and nothing else.

Exactly. But on the plus side it is usually evident immediately which Gio showed up to work. However, on the negative side our manager either does not see the signs we see or he chooses to ignore them. In either case, if Gio does get shelled he wont get pulled until it is too late.

Got our 3 studs going up. Gotta take 2/3. I think Gio will pitch better tonight, first game coming off injury is always rough on a pitcher.

Gio is on my WNFF Fantasy team. I left him in the DL slot for both the Houston game and tonight. Milwaukee is 14-5 against left handers, just as Houston hits lefties really well. The Brewers have a lot of home run hitters, so I think Gio will give up 2 HRs, at least.
 :nervous:
We have a split double header against the Cubs Saturday (so they can have a parade on Sunday). So we can't afford to wear out the pen.  Gio will probably throw 96 pitches, no matter how many runs he gives up.

The Brewers are such an aggressive and free swinging team that you can get away with not having great command vs. them because they'll often get themselves out swinging at junk. They're a lot like us actually in that regard, except they still have quite a few high batting average hitters.

here's the brewers lineup:

1. Scooter Gennett (L) 2B
2. Jean Segura (R) SS
3. Carlos Gomez (R) CF
4. Lyle Overbay (L) 1B
5. Mark Reynolds (R) 3B
6. Khris Davis (R) LF
7. Elian Herrera (S) RF
8. Martin Maldonado (R) C
9. Marco Estrada (R) P

Pretty ugly.  I suppose ours will be something like McLouth (8), Hariston (9), Dobbs (3), Fransden (4), Leon (2) with Span/Desmond/Rendon starting.

CF Denard Span
2B Kevin Frandsen
LF Ryan Zimmerman
1B Adam LaRoche
3B Anthony Rendon
SS Ian Desmond

This isn't as terrible as I would have expected.

Well the 9 hole has been mostly the pitcher with a mix of PHs which Dobbs was a part of so that isn't as bad as it looks.  As for 7 and 8, there is a reason Espinosa and Lobaton started the season on the bench.  Those numbers should be much better in a week with both Harper and Ramos back.
