I doubt they still do it in this day and age but back in the day umpires had the authority to fine players for cursing at them.  :rofl:

Did the bat cross the plate? That  should be the rule. Sometimes baseball people make things harder than they should be.

Not the rule, nor should it be. If the swing could possibly hit a ball in the zone should be the criteria.
