Yeah it is supersprawl. Theres the medical center where rice is, theres the galleria mall area, theres the true downtown, etc.
I didn't know big cities really had a "midtown", figured they were all centered around downtown.  I'm from Raleigh and we've got the same thing where the city is geographically huge and there's like a midtown a North Raleigh a West Raleight etc.

Wikipedia says they are right and i am wrong. But i remember the ballpark surrounded by empty lots.
We went to see the Pats in Houston in December and stayed at a Hyatt downtown, seems like we passed Minute Maid several times while we were out and about and it's right there in the middle of everything, was kind of surprised that it wasn't on the outskirts like a lot of city ballparks.

NYC

There's uptown and midtown Manhattan, Eastside and Westside, and lower Manhattan. Do they say downtown about NYC?

Matugi:    I didn't know big cities really had a "midtown"  ....

Midtown was the comment I was referring to.

Isn't downtown for NY basically synonymous with all of Manhattan?
