Okay, a  :w: in the books. But Stras didn't pitch a perfect game and the Nats didn't hit two grand slams. This team sucks. The sky is falling. Bryce, Span, Desmond, Werth, and Lobaton are killing this team. Matt Williams is slowly poisoning everybody. Rizzo is an idiot. Really....it's all true. :hysterical:

You forgot, Espy had a K, we didn't bat 1.000 with RISP, etc etc.

GDTs suck when the team is losing. It's like a circle jerk of negativity. Teams lose a lot in baseball. You have to accept that  to stay sane.

The gdt trolls are killing these threads. Time to fire up the ignore list.

Amen
Seriously GDT's are so amusing whether the team is winning OR losing, I can't imagine enjoying baseball as much without 'em
Nice to see they pulled out the win and got a split against the dreaded Cards, now on to a sweep of the halos!

So I missed the game but caught the highlights on the At Bat app - was it just me or did Bob not really sound too enthusiastic about the winning sac fly?

I said it before and I'll say it again. Predicting failure in a game where the best succeed only 3 out of 10 times is easy. Having faith is hard. Cheer on your team when the going gets toughest, they aren't quitting and they are showing a lot of heart.

Sanity.

I don't know, but I get the feeling Bob is still a Cardinals fan deep down. Personally, I think the radio guys are much better with the dramatic calls than Carpenter. Don't get me wrong - I think he's a decent play-by-play guy but he's not among the best. Take a look at this clip for example: http://m.mlb.com/video/v6928799/nymwsh-maxwell-sends-a-walkoff-grand-slam-to-left/?c_id=mlb.

That motherfreaker still yearns for the cardinals and only Mathguy doesn't realize it.

I must also admit I'm very impressed with Soriano so far this season. I'm sure he'll get hit at some point, but I'll enjoy the ride while it lasts.

Also, I find the official scoring of the sacrifice fly a bit funny:
D Span hit sacrifice fly to right, D Espinosa scored.

Even though Span hit the fly ball to left field, Jon Jay was the right fielder and he shifted over to left as part of the various defensive shifts Matheny made.

Great win today. Kept the season series tied.

I live in the mlb.tv black out area for the Cardinals (even though nobody gets FSMW around here except bars and big time Cardinal fans) so I had to listen to all 4 on the radio. Which is always a treat with Jageler and Slowes.

My buddy is a big Cardinals fan so he text smack talked me throughout the weekend. It was nice to get the last laugh. Gotta take 2 of 3 in St. Louis, but at least they have nothing to say until then.

Before the season he's says, "The Cardinals have the best rotation in the national league" I said, "No the Nationals do"
Then he says "Everybody picked the Cardinals to win the world series." I say "No, everybody picked the Nationals."

Geez... Knocking them out of the playoffs would be greatness.
