When the only thing left to play for is ruining someone's October, teams play really well against the contenders. If Texas can knock the Braves out of the Wildcard race, it'll make them feel a touch better in the clubhouse about winning the race for first draft pick.

Simmons is AWFUL at the plate. He's Desmond without the extra base hits.

Uh ... He's not really. He's Ben Revere without speed or solid contact. He doesn't strike out, but doesn't hit for power nor walk.

Like I said for over a month, Barves ain't makin the playoffs.

Cannot go with a B line up. We need to keep winning to avoid St/ Louis in the 1st round. I really think the top spot is important this year and we are in a virtual tie with LAD right now. Keep winning. Let LAD and St. L play in the NLDS while we play the WC winner.

why are we afraid of the cardinals? i would rather play them than the giants or the dodgers. Preference would be Pirates or Brwers than the Cardinals. Why are some of you scared of the cardinals, they arent a particularly great team. the best hitter on their team has an OPS of .806. We have four guys with an OPS above .800 and Harper has an OPS of .838 and is getting better(an OPS of .913 in the last 28 days). Our team is way better than theirs in every way. We have scored more runs than them and allowed fewer by significant margins. The Cards are one of the weaker playoff teams

That's the thing that's scary about them. You'd expect them to just suck majorly in the postseason, but these little nags always seem to finally get it together in October.
