Span ain't lighting it up at leadoff and we aren't blowing the doors off of opponents. No one should feel entitled to a spot or even starting time.

I am speaking several yeas ago prior to Spans' acquisition not now. Didn't Philly get Bourjos on a rental ?

one of the most important spots in the lineup defaults to a guy who sucks too much to hit anywhere else (which in and of itself makes no sense), thus that position has to hit leadoff?

This is one of the things that I like least about this organization. They have an unseriousness about winning. I'm not calling for punitive actions. They need to be able to explain why things are being done and the explanation for benching Span is easy, it gives us a better chance to win. The explanation for moving Span out of leadoff, his OBP is too poor, he doesn't see enough pitches...he doesn't walk enough.

This organization, Rizzo being the biggest culprit, acts like results don't matter moreso than almost every other team in baseball. If you put a player in a particular spot for a specific reason, that player has to perform or you move on. You don't drag it out and hope things work out.

oh man I was psyched when I saw this because I'd no idea they were playing (why so early though I wonder?) but when I went to pull up the game it's been blacked out in my area, even though I live in another flippin' state, MLB rules on who can watch what totally suck

Let's face it. Best case scenario, Braves and Nats both beat inferior teams today and then somehow the Nats miraculously gain a series split vs Atlanta. We would be up by 0.5 game over them after Sunday and then from there we can continue to beat up on non Braves/Cardinals teams.

Though wow looking at the Braves schedule for the next month they play nothing but powder puffs (Astros, Phillies, Mets, Dbacks, Mets, Cubs, Phillies, Marlins, Padres). jeez WTF! The next good team they play is July 29th vs the Dodgers.

I wouldn't say the Dodgers are a good team.
