Split the Astros series and win one game against the Barves, we'll only be four out. After that, we don't have to play the Braves until September and can start winning games.

You can never be satisfied with less than one winning every series at home.

Against the Barves? Yes, yes I can. We come out of next weekend only four games back, huge victory for the Nats. Get Ramos back, get Gio back, get the bats going.

Nah, that is loser mentality.  Even BiL and spider are in agreement on this.

The Braves are so resilient. Another gritty comeback by them tonight.  They never give up.

I feel like "sportsfan" is really just some guy using a cliche generator and feigning drunken anger every once in a while.

They got greedy there. With one out they should've held the runner at 3rd considering the play the RF made on the ball.

So you're saying he's Kevin Sheehan?

La Stella has been an enormous upgrade at 2B for Atlanta. They are clearly the class of the NL East.

Atlanta so much more effort and talent than the Nats. 1.5 games back after tomorrow.  2.5 game swing in just mere days.

Heaney coming up worries me, it could be really rough if both he and Fernandez were in the rotation together (something to look "forward" to in 2016 after Heaney's TJ recover ;)   )

Bowden notes from an ESPN Q&A:

Quote
What are the Braves' plans with Alex Wood? Demotion of an incumbent starter, trade an incumbent starter, trade him?

The Braves would love to be able to trade for a top-of-rotation starter like David Price of the Rays or Jeff Samardzija of the Cubs. Don't be surprised if Wood is a part of either deal. There is also a strong possibility that he will be replacing Aaron Harang in the Braves' rotation after the All-Star break.

lots of moves in Miami:

Quote
The Marlins announced that they have designated right-hander Kevin Slowey and left-hander Randy Wolf for assignment as part of a series of roster moves. Additionally, Christian Yelich and Jarrod Saltalamacchia have been placed on the 15-day DL, and Donovan Solano has been optioned to Triple-A New Orleans. Miami will recall right-hander Anthony DeSclafani, outfielder Jake Marisnick and first baseman Justin Bour. Most notably, top prospect Andrew Heaney will also be promoted to the Majors for the first time.

A shakeup of the lineup, what an odd concept?

CBS Sports:

Braves considering making changes to lineup?

With Braves catcher prospect Christian Bethancourt on a roll offensively at Triple-A Gwinnett, Atlanta has started toying with the idea of shaking up their lineup, according to MLB.com.

The lineups moves would include moving catcher Evan Gattis to left field, Justin Upton to right field, Jason Heyward to center field and struggling outfielder B.J. Upton to the bench. The lineup changes would create an opening for Bethancourt to start at catcher.

Bethancourt has always been lauded for his defense, but the 22-year-old catcher is beginning to improve offensively. He is batting .312 with a .764 OPS in his last 37 games at Triple-A.

"We're hearing [Bethancourt] right now," Braves manager Fredi Gonzalez said. "We're paying attention."
