Soriano was the worst signing in Nationals history....and he was signed because of Mark "Beyond Topped Out" Lerner.

He's no Brian Lawrence, or Dan Haren, but few can contribute THAT much.

Soriano is going to make me go completely grey, and I'm only 30.

Before I read these threads or head back up north let me say this: anyone who called game/season/franchise and/ or gave up on this season because the Nats trotted their "c" lineup out against the "a" lineup of the braves should firmly affix those mouth around the tailpipe of a running motor vehicle.

This isn't Davy Johnson's team.  This team has some intestinal fortitude.  That was pretty clear to see after the mets series.  Yea they crap the bed the last two games.  That's bound to happen.

I called this :w: last night.  Ride or die nages!

Ian Desmond is a winner. Hopefully he rubs off on the rest.

We should have won Friday, but that's balanced out by the fact that we probably should have lost opening day.

He just needs to chill for a little while.  Weather hasn't helped, although everyone from NY to DC should be up in the 60s/70s by mid next week.

Still can't figure out why anyone thinks this. The surgery wasn't psychological. The days off for a sore shoulder in Spring Training weren't psychological.

Because he makes the tough plays with little trouble but seems to botch the routine ones?

He makes sidearm throws with little trouble. His overhand throws are always lollipops and often off target. He's great coming in, he's awful going back.

The New New Senators/Nationals have been back for about ten years. Desmond looks like the player that kids will want to pretend to be. Will squabble to get his baseball  card. If the franchise is "topped out", then it's time to dig into Papa Lerner's personal checking account to sign Desmond.  The face, the backbone, the heart and soul of the team.
