I don't think it's possible to judge a manager by in-game moves. Billy Martin? Yes. He over-thought everything...tried to play chess-game with his lefty-righty match-ups and even a good left-handed hitter will fail two times out of three. The 1978 season is a good example of Martin's style compared to Bob Lemon's "pick the best players and let them play" style.

Only judge by the results of a long stretch of games. This Nats team has not cracked even though Fister, Ramos, Zimmerman, and Harper have been out for a long time, and Span missed a week after the collision. No telling if, or how long, the collision affected Span. They're still winning, and just took two of three from the Dodgers.

So far, Williams looks pretty good. (If he gets into a bar-fight with Strasburg or Zimmermann I'll change my mind quickly!)

I get the impression that nobody in the clubhouse would leave a bar fight with Zimmermann on two feet.

For the record, Matt Williams has a pretty damn strong handshake as well when I met him in ST this year.

Poor sentence construction: nobody in the clubhouse would leave a bar on two feet in a fight with Zimmermann .

Why would they simultaneously be leaving a bar on two feet while fighting Zimmermann?

Why would anyone willingly leave a bar anyway, unless they ran out of product?

My mistake. Billy Martin slugged Bob Allison and then Dave Boswell in an alley behind a bar. Not precisely a bar fight, although I never heard why Martin punched his number two power hitter and number one starting pitcher.

And Ed Whitson broke Martin's arm in a bar fight in Baltimore.

Too lazy to look it up but when did B. Martin coach Allison and Boswell of the old Senators.

R.Jackson was staying in the same hotel I was  and he got on the elevator with his bodyguard and the guard told me to wait . I gave him a FU look and got on anyway. I was ready if you get my drift knowing they wouldn't do anything.
