I don't think student rate is disappearing for everyone, it's been raised to $49, but they also only let you renew at that rate for 4 years I think, after that you have to go to the normal rate even if you are still in school.

It's not abusing it if I don't have a car to get stuff  I even bought my new vacuum cleaner over Amazon. Delivered it overnight. I love Prime so much.

Don't blame you one bit. "User" is my opinion. Abuser is probably Amazon's.

Anyone with prime try the new Amazon Prime music feature?  Prime membership gets you "over 1 million songs and hundreds of playlists."  There are 8 Sabaton albums on it (though some are singles).  342 Springsteen songs for you old(er) farts :P

I used it briefly with their android app, no problems and a nice selection, but I listen to podcasts more than music these days so I haven't used it much

I like the fact that you can download the music to your phone so you don't have to use data all the time for songs you listen to a lot.

Amazon Fire TV stick is $19 for 2 days for Prime members.  I might have to bite at that price to replace an aging Roku.

Amazon is reportedly sitting on about $83 million worth of Flare phones that they can't sell (or even give away).  It's kind of odd that they've done well in the tablet space but they can't compete with Apple or Google in the phone market.

FWIW, my kindle paperwhite is one of the greatest things i've ever purchased.

Because it's cheaper and mostly because I don't want to have to use my phone to control it all the time.

i use my computer to control it, too, or my tablet...

i got my chromecast for $30, so the difference between that and the firetv stuff seems like a wash to me
