That clown is still insisting that skittering around on ice in the middle of March is the best he's ever lived.  wtf.

doing bets on the Ronde and Paris Roubaix.  Take 3, highest aggregate finishes.  No Sagan, Cancellara, or Boonen.

I'm thinking Stybar will be one of my picks.  Any advice?

I'm thinking that this is the year that Cavendish decides he wants to be the fastest guy on earth on cobblestones as well as asphalt.

Degenkolb today.  I had him in Milan-San Remo in bet with one of the bartenders at CCSP (he had Spartacus . . . no one could take Sagan).  We are doing a Flanders / Roubaix bet based on placings.  No one could take Sagan, Cancellara, or the Belgian Badass (in honor of MDS).  We each ended up with an Omega Pharma, a BMC, and a Sky.  I have Stybar, Van Avermaet, and Stannard.  he had Thomas, Terpstra, and Phinney.  With Boonen and the rest of Omega, I just don't see either of those races set up for a sprinter.

I'm definitely a Terpstra fan.

I loved the Paris-Roubaix when Francesco Moser and Sean Kelly were still in the mix.  What an insane race.

i've got to replace Stannard.  I'm thinking of grabbing a Belkin rider or going with Degenkolb.

Giro d'Italia starts soon (08 May in Belfast of all places).  Adrian Fenty was trying to have the Giro start here in DC with the prologue and one or possibly even two subsequent stages...rumour was this was pretty close to happening (until he lost the 2010 primary).

The TdF is going to present a bit of a challenge this year, being that it overlaps with the World Cup (and of course besbol).

Phil Gilbert in the Amstel Gold Cup race.   It's Liege-Bastogne-Liege lite.

He always wins that race.  I don't know why anyone else even shows up.

I'm shocked that Van Avermaet tried but came up short.

You trade a pain in your ass for belly pain?

Is it more efficient than pedaling?

I looked it up. It's German. My guess is it's designed to let Euro-teens stay in their girl jeans while they "ride".

Who wants to get one of these?

My brother's company is doing their charity bike ride from Pittsburgh to DC again this year, but instead of October they're doing it in July. He just sent me an e-mail saying they're participating in WTOP's "Click for a Cause" contest this week—"The winning charity in our category will receive $10,000 and the runner-up will receive $5,000 worth of advertising on WTOP."

I can't participate because you have to have a Facebook account to do so, but if the moderators don't mind, I will post the link in case anyone here might be willing to do so. Here is the info about their organization (you should recognize the name of the company, AFCEA, from watching Nationals games on TV): http://www.wtop.com/1423/3601983/AFCEA-Educational-Foundations-Cycle-for-STEM

You'd be much slower than a bike. What's the point, just use rollerblades or something.

Hope to start riding soon. I bike to class but have barely touched my road bike all winter. My class schedule doesn't really let me have time to ride, as well as me being scared crapless occasionally around college drivers. Just need to go out and do it I guess and get over it.

The flooding caused a line to rupture next to the capital crescent, dumping 5 million gallons of raw sewage across the trail and into the Potomac.  I wonder if I can pedal while wearing a hazmat suit?

I'm pretty sure Stanford's in California.
