The third beer is Sticky Situation, and Engert describes it as a brown ale, with 7 percent alcohol by volume. About 30 percent of its grains were smoked by Nathan Anda at Red Apron Butchery. The beer includes rye whiskey, barrel-aged maple syrup and a bacon-reduction jus. The ale is designed to pair with  MacIsaac's maple-bacon-bourbon doughnuts.

The article is hilarious, makes me want to go there just to goof on them.

They seem to be kicking out releases at lightning speed,  considering the time it takes to ferment (considering the ingredients, they have to be doing secondary fermentations) and the get bottle conditioned,  are they even bothering refining their recipes with test batches?

Good point, it does appear as though they are testing their products out on their customers while charging full price.  Seems as though they are desperate for a signature brew to bring in crowds as they have sunk a fortune into the place.

Bell's 2 Heart Ale.

If the other guests appreciate it - you have good taste.
If they don't, you'll have it all to yourself.
I don't see a downside.

The kind you drink. Unless of course it's a beer snob party. If it is, stay home.

I'm pretty sure you have to drink the official beer of the NFL, Bud Light.
Somebody should have an official crap of the NFL party: official beer, official training partner, official pizza, official chips, official steroids

Speaking of beer, does anybody know where I can get one of those jobs where someone orders a Coors Light and they tell me and I dig it out of some ice and snowboard it down a mountain to the bar and customer? Looks fun. I don't even care how much it pays

Just got word that Dallas's best brewery, Lakewood, is brewing a Sin Mint stout that pairs with Thin Mints.

I always thought the theory of food/drink pairing was to use different tasting items.  The only example I can come up with is eating candy before drinking coke. It makes the coke tasteless. Or cupcakes and juice from elementary school. The juice sucks. Cookies and milk, maybe coffee or something. The formula is sweet plus not sweet. Maybe a foodie can correct me...

Isn't that just a variation on a Black and Tan?  i've had Bass and Guiness, which isn't as nice looking as Harp and Guiness, but tastes great.

It is a black & tan.  But the IPA gives it so much more flavor.  So does chocolate stoudt over Guiness.  Guiness is the Budweiser of dark beer

That sounds quite good...can't say it over occurred to me to mix either of those with anything (in the same glass at least).
