Maybe the thumb injury was a blessing in disguise. Hearing that the tendon was 75% torn before makes you wonder. Plus his knee probably appreciated the time off and for him to equalize upper and lower body strength.

"Bryce Harper will rejoin the Nationals on Monday barring any setbacks, according to a person familiar with the matter. Harper’s return after missing 57 games with a torn ligament in his left thumb that required surgery would reunite the Nationals’ lineup for the first time since opening day."

So, BH is somewhere, fapping his brains out?

And how many at bats until he's complaining about Bryce sucking?

And an awesome bobblehead.

So, Bryce had apparently hurt his thumb in HS and never gotten it fixed. Wonder if he will see some improvement over the long term.

Seriously?  Any idea what the extent of the HS injury was?  Sprain, dislocation, break?

"Taking batting practice, Harper sure seemed ready. Schu wondered if Harper’s thumb surgery had allowed him to swing more freely. Harper had hurt the ligament in high school, and Thursday he revealed it had been partially torn for his entire major league career. Still, he said he felt no difference now compared to before the injury."

As a Sophomore in H.S. he hit only three home runs, it may have been that year. The next year he hit 31 in college. In 228 at-bats!

Mark Zuckerman @ZuckermanCSN

Asked Williams if he heard what Harper did tonight: "I did. He hit into a double play. ... He also did a couple other things."
