bryce harper says he prefers playing CF and thinks his at-bats benefit as well because he feels so good out there on defense

Harper, shut up!

Zim and Harper sure seem to be throwing Span under the bus.

Harper much more than Zimmerman, I think, thought Zim isn't helping matters by saying he likes leftfield. But Zimmerman is playing well in left; all Harper is doing is running his mouth.  Saying something to the effect of "you really need to play me in center, if you want to get maximum offensive production from me" just adds fuel to the fire, and I am sure it makes management very uncomfortable.

And is he going to "feel so good" in center after he misplays a few fly balls?

I agree with this. Harper and Zimmerman should just shut up and say "play me wherever it helps the team." I think Zimmerman does this for the most part but not consistently.

It's not just about not hurting Span's feeling or some crap. You just don't go around talking about taking other player's jobs like that. Not good for team chemistry.

Huh. Interesting choice of shirt.

It's a play off of a rap song by Rocky A$ap.  The lyrics to that song go like this (my edits in parenthesis)

"I love bad (b word that rhymes with "pitches), that's my (f word that rhymes with ducking) problem
And yeah I like to (f word that rhymes with duck), got a (f word that rhymes with clucking) problem"

With Harper in CF last night, we probably would have lost (unless he drove in some runs earlier), I doubt he makes that game saving catch.

He would have hit a three run bomb 8 innings before

Still thinking that they end up with sort of a Span  / Espinosa

5 guys into 4 spots can be handled.  Throw in the occasional off  day for Werth, Desi, and ALR, and this is a manageable problem.

That would mean Zimmerman plays third against righthanders.  That assumes that Zimmerman can handle third.

Yes, with the occasional outfield day when Werth gets a day off (Harper to right).

But we know what he is. If he can't hit, that's a whole other disaster. But his bat plays anywhere.

Perhaps Harper is trying to get back on June 30th, his bobblehead night. He was hurt last year on his bobblehead night as well...

#TheFuture can't wait until we have an athletic outfield that can go and get the ball.

Really feels like they should have called him up already given his performance and the team's performance the last week?  Was there something particular to this injury that required such a long rehab

No reason not to be cautious at this point. Harper is very streaky and if he cant get in the groove with a couple extra games, it's worth te wait.
