360 launched at $400, and that was 8 years ago.  One has kinect included, plus blu ray.  Not to say it's a good buy, because of the other bs, but I don't see why people are nagging about price.  PS4 will be the same I'm sure.  Event at 9 PDT I think.
I already have a Blu-Ray player and the Kinect is a piece of llama crap.

Sure, you can have an opinion on the value of what it comes with.  It's still not an insane overprice.  Hell, a 250 GB 360 is $299 now and the current kinect is $99, so that's already $399 for 8 year old hardware.

Lol, Sony taking a bunch of jabs at Microsoft right now.

Lots of cheers at trading game discs, no internet connection required for check ins every 24 hrs.

The thing I'm most excited for is that beautiful Xbox One controller to use on my PC.

This console war crap is so stupid. I'll just buy both, problem solved. Just like I did last go 'round.

Xbox One won't go anywhere, just like the PS3 didn't go anywhere last gen.

Don't think I'm getting either. PC Gaming FTW. Not that I game much nowadays anyway.

Microsoft is dumb.

I'm not buying anything. I'll stick to OOTP and PC strategy gaming.

I'll be buying both consoles. The real question is which to buy at launch. I do know that PS4 is the better of the two but I'd rather play the games that I want to right away. So if Halo [5] and Titanfall came at launch, I'd definitely be purchasing Xbox One first.

Titanfall is reason enough to get an Xbox one. I have a pc that can handle it, but I'd rather sit back and relax on a couch/bed and play it. Like I said though, I'll get both.

I used to be the hugest Halo fanboy years ago. I collected the old Joyride Studios action figures, I bought the original five Halo books, I obsessively followed the development and release of of Halo 3, and I even bought a bottle of the Halo 3 Gamer Fuel Mountain Dew to keep unopened, which I still own to this day. Having said all of that, I'm done with it. Halo 4 was good gameplay wise, but the quality of the story has taken quite a dip IMO. I know the legendary ending of Halo 3 set up there being another game, but as far as I am concerned, Halo should have ended, and in my mind, it has ended, with Reach. It was a hell of a good time while it lasted, but Halo is no longer a series that will get me to purchase a console like it used to be.

Except now they're dumbing down games and making console ports for PC.

Yeah, the whole "We are watching you all the time" aspect of the Xbox One is what is going to make me get the PS4.

Anyone interested in Firefall?  f2p MMO FPS with both PvE and PvP content.  I just got into beta and have a few invites.

Yeah, the whole "We are watching you all the time" aspect of the Xbox One is what is going to make me get the PS4.

Absolutely. I find it insane that people are up in arms over this bullcrap about used games... That's nothing in comparison. Screwing the gamers that way is moronic, sure, but to me the idea that I basically have to have my X-Box connected to the internet 24/7 and the damn thing won't even turn on unless the Kinect is plugged in and running? Give me a goddamn break. Has anyone seen the movie Antitrust? Early 2000s flick. About a fictionalized Microsoft. That tapped into video sent through their OS to spy on programmers and steal their code.

This, the same week the PRISM scandal erupts? The used game BS made it extraordinarly unlikely I'd buy a One, fueled by the fact I haven't turned on my 360 in months in favor of the PS3. I absolutely will not even consider it as long as the Kinect crap is how it is.

Are they really going to spy on anyone with it? Hell no, the crapstorm that would erupt if they were ever found out would bankrupt them in seconds. But could they? Hell yeah they could. Further, who knows what some Anonymous hacker could exploit and end up with access to, or what a shady game dev could add to their game and end up with similar access.

Never mind the fact that with that FISA court the way it is, might not some government agency realize they have a potential 'in' which could net serious intel and even save lives by tapping into it? Worst case it'd require warrants and specifically target someone deserving of being spied on, most likely just paranoid impossible BS - but the fact something like that can even spring to mind shows just how incredibly delusional Microsoft has been with regards to the X-Box One. I'm not sure they've done anything right so far - oh wait, the Killer Instinct E3 demo was awesome! Rape jokes by a MS employee and all.

An always on camera and microphone in my home hooked up to an always internet connected device + telling me $60 per game nets me nada resale or sharing rights = no f'in thanks.

Add in a PS4 $100 cheaper and with none of this BS? Say hi to Nintendo in the console clearance aisle for me, Microsoft.

Rant over, the PS4 does look pretty spectacular. Kingdom Hearts 3 trailer was incredible. Considering how expensive the PS3 was at Release, I was expecting even worse for the PS4... Some nice news there, even though folks are already speculating that it'll bankrupt Sony and that Sony hadn't even set the PS4's price until this week - basically, their plan was 20% off the XBox One's price.

Poor Nintendo. My idea of epic Zelda news wasn't a 3DS alteration to A Link To The Past. No Metroid news. Poor, poor Nintendo. I'm only glad they didn't release a 'must have' at launch so that I didn't end up buying one. That'd be money down the drain at this point.

I wonder if Nintendo can even survive to make another console after the Wii U? They suck now. All they do is rehash old concepts. I own an SNES. If I want to play a sidescrolling Mario game, I'll get it out and play Super Mario World, DK Country 1 and 2, or Super Mario All-Stars. It blows my mind that the company that made such innovative takes on their classic stuff as Super Paper Mario and Super Mario Galaxy could completely lose all innovation and desire to do anything new during the lifespan of the system that produced those games. freak them. Oh, and if I do decide I want to play a modern sidescroller, I'll go play Super Meat Boy on my 360. Sure, it's not Mario and it's hard as freak, but I didn't have to shell out $60 to play it. This is really hard for me because I love Nintendo and the Mario series, but it may be time for them to go the way of Sega. Perhaps some other developers could do something new and cool with Mario that Nintendo can't or won't do anymore.

pre-ordered a ps4 the other night. very excited for it. the games coming out look great, and just $5 a month for online multiplayer is fantastic, as well as used games support and no DRM. won't ever purchase an xbox one

If you like tech details, here's an article comparing the 2 hardware wise.

http://www.anandtech.com/show/6972/xbox-one-hardware-compared-to-playstation-4/2

Very similar hardware except the XB1 has 768 GPU cores to the PS4's 1152, and the PS4 uses GDDR5 ram, giving it way more bandwidth, 68.3 GB/s for XB1, 176.0 GB/s on PS4.

Game and Watch has been usurped as the most obscure character in the series.
