Watching this game feels like it will be a chore more than it should be.

Let's see if they can have a better season than Baltimore. Win a couple more this year.

Why is Walters not starting? Seriously, we may as well give the young guys some starts

Great question.  Why keep trotting out the same old guys that didnt get it done during the season?   See what they might be able to do in the final three games.  Anyone really think some of the vets even want to be out there?

Corbin has been awful this month (6.66 ERA). Tee off.

Yep. Last year spoiled us lol. We used to play seasons worth of hollow baseball games.

Hopefully 2014 is different. We need to come roaring out of the gate and win like 20 of 30 or something.

I really feel bad for the young guys who get called up for the Nats and see the field once or twice, if at all.

Because freak real-game experience and trying to find pieces for next year's team.

There's nothing a September call up is going to do in these games that will mean anything as far as next season.

I disagree, I think facing some entrenched major league pitchers/hitters will help young guys. You have to take your licks sometime. It won't guarantee anything, but that's not the point. Show them off to other teams, let them fight for a place on the team next season (hell, it won't take much to show up Tracy), figure out what the pecking order for injury replacements is, who cares. Make them do something, that's what they're there for.

So it's like watching a car-wreck happen again and again, but I can't resist watching the nats game. Nice steal by Kobernus.

Incidentally, Walter Johnson pitched 325 or so innings during that 1918 season. Won 23 games, and also hit .267.
