Dan Haren ruined my Friday evening in five minutes.

I'm a bit sick so it was ruined already but this definitely doesn't help.

Ina bar full of Nats fans. Silence other than eating and drinking sounds. Everyone is Harened.

Thank goodness the Marlins will probably limit Fernandez to six innings or so tonight.

Yep. Will be interesting to see how long they leave Fernandez in there.

The Nats approach tonight is, like usual, absolutely embarrassing.

Again, this is why we are good young arms need to be in Syracuse.  We need to sign two starters and put Detwiler in the bullpen so he'd be the #6 starter.

#4 and #5 starters can't be neglected.

Of course, I fully expect Rizzo to botch this so we're signing another Chris Young to a minor league contract because he'll force the young pitcher forward leaving us vacant again for pitching in the high minors.

I guess no other team ever made Rizzo that worthwhile offer he sought for Haren.

Wonder why?   :icon_question:

Same with LaRoche. No one wanted either player.

4 WAR pitcher with under 165 innings. He has been doing this all season.

Just take yourself out of the game for the good of the team.

HS pitcher
True, but a very good one HS pitcher. But the Nats have never developed a HS pitcher and put one in the Majors so I guess we didn't want to bother. Giolito may be the first unless they ruin him.

Doesn't matter. MLB history is filled with very good HS pitchers who didn't pan out. The fact that he is up here so quickly is amazing.

Most HS pitchers don't make it.

All I can think of is all of the failure HS pitchers we have drafted. Colton Willems, Jack McGeary, Josh Smoker, Graham Hicks, Bobby Hansen, etc. Maybe AJ Cole will make it.

Hell, HS players as a whole we have generally stunk at too.
