I'm happy for them. I was born a Pirate fan and grew up following the team, though their fall from greatness, not to mention getting slapped away from the World Series not once but THREE times in a row in the early 90's really made me lose interest in baseball until the Nationals arrived here in 2005. So I'm glad to see them successful once again, and I hope they can keep it up.

Sounds like my story.   :)

The '91 and '92 NLCS are why I have a visceral reaction to the tomahawk chop to this day. I mean, I hate the Phillies, but I REALLY hate the Braves!

Absolutely agree.   I've mentioned it before on WNFF, I dislike the Braves more than any team in MLB baseball.

John Rocker.

One of those special times:

- Rocker mouths off about New York City, compaining that he could not find a good aryan-nation bar...while his famous all-star Braves beat up the Mets.
- THEN he's got to face the no-star Yankees.

Was that the season the Yankees took the Series four straight from the Braves, or the series when they let the Braves win the first two and then took four straight?

Convinced Kenny Powers is an alias for John Rocker.
