As a fan of both teams (paging the fan police), I'd say the Caps have a better (though perhaps not much better) chance of making the finals than the Canucks...Vancouver is going to have a hell of a time getting past Chicago and LA. Not that the "Metropolitan Division" is a cakewalk, but I'd say the balance of power is decidedly with the western teams right now. Plus the Sedins will probably stop functioning after Torterella's umpteenth screaming tantrum.
Boston lost more than they gained last year (with all due respect to Iginla). No idea what to expect from Pitt or Philly. I have a feeling the Rangers will be lousy. The Islanders might actually make the playoffs again.
Ottawa is probably the other Canadian team to watch, even if their captain bolted to the Red Wings.
Oh, but hockey, how I have missed thee...
Decided to keep one eye on the Caps this year, especially given the Canucks will likely be playing most of their games at 3am again. Given the teams are in opposing Conferences, how do you guys rate Washington's chances of meeting my boys in the SC? Like, what's a realistic season expectation this year?
