It looks like the Redskins restructured Carriker's deal (I don't get that move). That and Hall's release provided enough cap room to re-sign Liechtensteiger, Jackson, Paulson, Young and Sundberg. They'll have to restructure or cut other players in order to fit Alexander and Davis under the cap plus try to upgrade the defensive backfield and RT through FA.

Media seems to think Alexander is as good as gone

Moss also restructures so the Redskins are now $3 million under the cap.

He's an important player but he's not the kind of impact player that will devastate the team if he leaves.

Rocca back in the fold for 2 more years. Hall hasn't signed with Detroit either.

I like Moss and he was pretty solid out of the slot. That said, if he wouldn't have restructured his contract, I wouldn't have been upset if he was cut.

Without a good TE, having a reliable slot reliever becomes that much more important

If we re-sign Davis, we'll have that covered.

that's a big if considering the lack of salary cap space

I hate our salary cap problems and our lack of draft picks. The latter is still worth it though.

Not sure where the money would come from, but, manipulating the cap is probably what the Skins do the best.

Exactly. Moss is still valuable and the Redskins can't afford to take a step backward on offense.

Right now they have enough to make that signing (easily). All they need to do is give him a low base salary for this season. The most important needs at this point are safety, corner, tackle and re-signing Davis.

It can't go without mentioning that it appeared as though RGIII and Moss developed a fair amount of chemistry as the year progressed. Even if we are able to sign Davis, which I think we can get a one year deal with him, I'm glad to have Moss around.

I really like Talib's talent but am concerned with his off field behavior. I think with Davis you offer a one year prove yourself deal and then re-sign him to a big deal next year.

I'd really like to see Compton step up and take over RT

hopefully, but I'm wondering if another team would be willing to take a chance and give him the big deal this year

Coming off a season ending injury and the previous suspension? I have my doubts, bit you never know.

LaRon Landry signed a four year, $24 million deal with the Colts with $14 million guaranteed. That's too much guaranteed money for someone as injury prone as he is.

He did get through all of last season. At least some of his injury issues have to be put on the poor medical staff that the Redskins employ.

Don't want to sign Davis.  Guy will be suspended again soon.  We have two other reliable tight ends.

Like Trent Williams? And who are these reliable tightened? Fred Davis is a weapon where as the other guys are role players. I'm not saying that Davis won't ever get busted again but you're acting as though he's been suspended multiple times.

A lot of Landry's issues, at least in my opinion, was he was getting so big and bulky that he lost a lot of flexibility leading to injuries. Perhaps he's changed some of his workout routines? Besides, aside from RGIII, what evidence is there that the skins employ a crappy medical staff? Granted, Griffin was a huge injury, but its not like we have a history of poor medical help.

I'm surprised he didn't make a case for the Redskins bringing back Cooley.
