Calvin Johnson is the best wide receiver I've ever seen. 290 yards.

Not old enough to remember Jerry Rice?

Not sure if it is my hatred of all things lions or their lack of winning that makes me hate the megatron v Jerry Rice debates.

Megatron will go down as one of the all time greats, difference is that, like Babe Ruth, Jerry Rice is and always will be the measuring stick.

I've watched both and Johnson is the best I've ever seen. His ability to consistently catch the high throws is what impresses me the most.

Statistically, Rice is the best ever.

Calvin is three inches taller than Rice and usually even taller than opposing DBs.  He is otherworldly talented but no jerry rice.

Rice is in the conversation as the greatest player of all time, not just receiver. Rice > Megatron but they aren't far apart. Rice also wasn't as physically gifted.

Now, hold on a minute, if Megatron is bigger, faster, has more physical abilities and is able to come close to maximizing those like Rice did, that would make him better than Rice.  (I don't know those things to be true and I'm not making that argument).

It's odd to me when people use a player's build and skills against them when comparing them to other players.

If Shaq wasn't so big, Vlade Divac would have whooped his ass.

I'm not trying to diminish his greatness, just that if Megatron has more tools and maximizes them like Rice did, he's better than Rice.  I don't know that he's done that, but when he's been healthy, his numbers are right on par.  That will be the key for him.  Also, Rice had a ton of weapons to keep defenses honest around him than Megatron has in Detroit.

Either way, when you're good enough to be compared favorably to Rice, you're good, damn good. Add to that the fact that you can present a valid argument that you may he better?? Hmmmmm

It didn't hit the middle of his hand it was right off the fingertips.  Watch his arm after he makes contact with the ball.  It continues moving towards his body.

The rule is good and needed when applied correctly.  I don't think it was here and by the sound of others, even admittedly so during the game, others don't either.

Are there any running backs in the league like Bettis, Okoye or Alstott right now?

C'mon, you don't know that Hoodichek is really the Emperor from Star Wars with his hood and evil nature?

Lynch plays with that kinda power as does Peterson and Morris to a lesser extent.  But no, not really.

Lol, I'm actually completely anti sci-fi which seems to go against the grain here.  Honestly I've never seen any of the Star Wars, Trek, etc so I'm not entirely sure what you were talking about.

Obviously Billy boy wouldn't disagree with a call that ensured his team a W.

I don't care as I'm not on board with any AFC team.

Also, Rice had a ton of weapons to keep defenses honest around him than Megatron has in Detroit.

They're used differently. Johnson is a typical downfield receiver while Rice ran a lot more short crossing routes (versus zone defenses) and gained a lot of yards after the catch.

I feel bad for Paul Posluszny. One of the best LBs in the game and he's played for the Bills and Jags.

The announcers of the dallas/detroit game were saying that since philly had lost dallas would have a two game lead in the division because of their win over detroit. Then the crap hit the fan. At least they can't blame Romo for that loss. But dallas will still win the division. They have an easier road ahead than the rest of the division plus they are the better team.

He signed as a free agent.  Hard to feel sorry for someone chasing the money and signing with a bottom feeder.

Did anyone see the stat about how 50 of the 53 players on the Packers roster have played only for the Packers?   That's a homegrown team. That probably hasn't happened in decades.

Most adeptly managed team in pro sports.
