Thank you Jayson Werth for making me look like a big fat quitter doofus. And yes, while I was away for most of the game, I was glued to the gamecast on my phone!

Greatest baseball game in DC in almost 90 years. Might be the greatest game for the next 90. Best night of my life! Until tomorrow night, at least! Damn what a game, what a game, what a freaking game!

Announced attendance 44,392 - third highest ever at Nats Park and seventh highest at Nats Park and RFK combined.

Anyone have a pic of Werth jumping on the plate or something awesome like that suitable for full screen wallpaper on my laptop?

Lombardozzi's face is the best. Storen's a good second. Jackson just looks like he's thinking "I'm so losing my job this offseason..."

last night showed why baseball is the greatest sport in the world, there's no other sport that can build to that level of drama.

Y'know, Gio reacts very well to crowds. I think that we all can pump him up.

It is a bit after 10.00 in the morning right now, and there are 39 members and 49 guests on this forum.

Is this a great time, or what?

The bullpen arguably had an even better night than Werth did. Detwiler struck out 2 in 6 innings. The bullpen had struck out 8 by the time I stopped counting.

Detwiler needed to pitch the best game of his life last night and he did.  To hold a lineup that had scored 20 runs in two games to one unearned run in six innings was huge.  Kudos to Det for stepping up and doing his job.

8 of the 9 outs recorded by the relievers last night were strikeouts.

It was sooooo cool seeing Zimmermann throw like he did. He seriously looked like he was in the type of mood to kick someone's ass. Not with pitches, but like hold you down on the ground, pin your arms back with his knees and relentlessly pummel your face into a bloody, pulpy mess of organic matter that used to resemble a human being. Hopefully that intensity carries over.

After Zimmermann's seventh inning I knew we were going to win. I was somewhat worried up to that point.  I kept seeing a 2-1 loss in my mind.  When Zimm blew through that inning it turned my whole outlook 180 degrees.

I got nervous when we walked Kozma again.

Lombardozzi's face is the best. Storen's a good second. Jackson just looks like he's thinking "I'm so losing my job this offseason..."

I love the ump standing there looking at the plate to make sure Werth touches it on his way down.
