What you don't see in the stat line is how like Werth last year his presence in the locker room boosts the performance of his teammates.

That's true, but when you're playing the way Werth did most of last year or the way Zim has played lately, there's only so long that can keep things the way they are. Eventually, he has to start hitting, get moved in the lineup, fire the hitting coach, or what have you. Something has to happen.

Zim is doing ten times worse than Werth did at any point last season.

I'm surprised he has 20 walks this season. I only remember a few.

The point was that there isn't really a "break" in scheduling. Because there are two more NL teams the schedule has to have some imbalance when it comes to interleague games and they offset the imbalance by rotating the teams that play fewer interleague games.

All I'm sayin' is the Phillies have earned their "breaks" whether intentional or abstract  (like a game call, etc.).   I love ya brother but you're pickin' the white out of chicken crap.

My bad. I thought we were talking about scheduling.  :?

Besides, I wasn't arguing anything. I was just stating the scheduling rotation.

It already happened last season. Aside from baltimore we only played the white sox, the angels and the mariners and got extra games against the diamondbacks and pirates. It rotates every season.

I don't believe it works that way completely. I believe MLB schedule makers have much more latitude than NFL ones, for example.  There's no scheduling reason why,  I don't believe, why the Phillies got a series with the Twins and a 3rd series with the Rockies, this particular year.  It didn't have to be the Twins and it didn't have to be the Rockies.

The schedule was gamed to favor the Phillies.

Shameful ass losers. 1 measly run off a long ball. They can't string hits and walks together

That's a bit much considering the starting rotation he's assembled.  I'd give him a week or two of unpaid leave to think about his failures and focus on how he can commit himself to righting this ship.

This team is good, just not good enough.  We will have trouble with most of the post-season teams.  Still time to turn it around and fine tune the roster, but this team is overmatched as it stands today

The same could be said for the Nats playing the pirates and diamondbacks more times last year than usual. There have been years when the Nats didn't play AL teams from the same division (excluding baltimore). I don't believe the phillies got some sort of break but I realize some of you can't be objective when it comes to certain teams so there's no point in even debating this.

I like Morse, but he's one guy we might be able to trade for a good CF at the deadline.
