Shame he had to do a feet first slide. I was really hoping we'd start making more use of the Gio slide. It isn't often there are innovations in baseball technique. ;)

Lombo is just as good. If we were truly playing defense first, Espi would be at SS and Lombo at second

Who cares? We have the lead. We need him defensively more than offensively. Especially considering the inexperience in LF and RF

But, my comment was made when he was at the plate.

You know what?  Nevermind....

I don't think he has enough PAs (posting appearances) to qualify anymore.  Pretty sure sportsfan is the runaway champ anyway :mg:

That Chevy "take a knee" commercial irks me.  Talk about the wrong audience.

Not familiar with it...  Is it a DC ad?

Yes, please do score some runs!  I'm already sweating bullets thinking about H-Rod in the ninth, especially in this bandbox and - with our luck - Hunter Pence will probably be due up that inning.

I would have taken a knee much, much closer to the chick in the skirt.

why a feet first slide?

To avoid a potential collision with the pitcher running over to cover.

Perfectly rational.

Couldn't Stammen start the 8th and Clip finish it and take the 9th.  You can't put H-Rod in with only a 2-run lead, can you?
