this loss hurts. miami's on fire, atlanta's offense is clicking, and you know philly will eventually start to win. 4th place it is
I'd love to take you up on that bet.

Have no fear Nats fans, Kerry Wood and the Cubs' awful bullpen is about to to walk another game away and hand it to the Braves :?

He said Espinosa will be starting tomorrow and Rodriguez will continue to close.

2 run single by Uggla. Braves will tie the Nats for 1st place. Well by around this time tomorrow night we will not be in 1st anymore.

Seriously...we all need to barrage Phil Wood and his ghastly co-host on the MASN Saturday morning show and demand to know why they keep trotting Danny out every day.  Not that that will do anything, but perhaps it'll help get the word out there that the loyal fans are pretty pissed off.

Don't worry about this loss, folks. The local media has already forgotten about baseball season thanks to the Redskins making the obvious announcement about their starting QB.  They'll be much too busy stalking RGIII for the next few months and letting us know every time he passes gas to worry about the Nationals.

Nope, we'll still be 8 points ahead of the Braves even if we lose and they win.

As far as games behind, it'll be a virtual tie, but yeah, we should be a few percentage points ahead of them.

Right, but if today were the last day of the season, we'd still win the division.

I'd rather have H-Rod than Kerry Wood.  Lots of teams are having major bullpen issues, and I think we've been pretty fortunate so far.

Playing close games against good teams is all well and good, but playing close games against teams you should beat is just a recipe for lucking into losses that should've been wins.  Our pitching can't be much better, and yet we're still susceptible to crap like this because every game goes down to the wire thanks to the offense.

This is going to be our season, for better or worse.

What's hilarious is I thought the lineup had serious issues coming into the season but lately I was eyeing the DL and basically :az: for our lineup with everyone in it.

ATL is about to go

@ Cards
Reds
Marlins
@ Rays
@ Reds
Nats
Cards

We also hit a really tough stretch at the end of the month. I had eyed May 20th for the start of our toughest stretch of the year, but with the Orioles playing the way they are (until this series), might as well bump it up a series.

Craig Kimbrel is what a real closer should be. Pounds the strike zone with his 97-99 MPH heater and gets ahead in the count so he can throw his filthy slider if necessary.

The Nats are at a disadvantage.

:lmao: When I went to my allergist's office today, I noticed on the TV that the first segment on channel 9's sports coverage was the Caps.  The second was RG III.  No mention of Ryan Zimmerman returning tonight. :hang:

Kimbrel is healthy, our closer isn't.
