Wieland is a good young prospect for the Pads, still looking for his first Big League win. He's put up pretty good Minor League numbers and has the potential of maybe a #3 starter.

Looks like another pitchers' duel.

Just once I'd like to see us pounce on the opposing pitcher early and spot JZ a strong early lead.

[...]Radio: WFED 1500, WHFS 1580[...]

WFED-1500 is carrying the Caps playoff Game 7 at Boston (and FM-106.7 is carrying Cavaliers-Wizards - not to worry, Wizards season ends tomorrow and all Nats matches starting with this weekend's Dodgers series will be on FM-106.7, unless the Caps win tonight and go through to the next round, in which case there may be further conflicts).

Better than 6 ER in 5.2 IP?

I mean, I wouldn't complain, but I think you may be setting the bar a little high ;)

  Just goofing around.

This will be the first Nats game I've seen since Friday (did listen to 3 innings last night, though). Miss my Nats.

I'm happy this is a 6:30 game. I was procrastinating all night last night because of the late night game.

They sent his MRI to Dr. Kevorkian by mistake.

I would never say I'm "glad" Zim is out but I think this is going to be a regular thing every year based on the last few.   Since that's the case, now is the time to get the core bench guys and young guys some playin' time.   We keep playin' the "options" game, etc. and we never give the kids a chance to play.   Play 'em.   'Cause that's who's going to be playing most of the time Zim is on the DL.    The "goons" are chic but they aren't the answer.   BTW, bring up Harper.

Just like every night, looks like the Nats are going up against a potential Cy Young candidate.

Remember as FP said, every pitcher gives their best effort against the Nats, its not the hitters fault... But he's not making excuses.
