On an actual Fielder note, I'd think the road through the National League is a lot less crowded than it is through the AL. If the Rangers finish second to the re-tooled Angels, it's far from a certainty that they'll have a wildcard slot locked up with the AL East looking as deep as it does. Hope he adds this and DC's vastly superior veggie dining options to his comparison list...

I think the reports about Fielder and Rangers considering a deal is all fluff. I'd stick with Nolan at this point and say that they checked in on him to see if they could swing him if the Nats deal is really low, like low years and low price, like under 18M a year or something. I think they don't want to overload with huge contracts outside of Darvish this year with looming free agents and extensions coming next year.
