I'm using this thread to discuss Lego in general, so here's some pictures and analysis of the upcoming Legends of Chima theme. It's the successor to Ninjago as the flagship action theme for Lego. (It'll probably get a TV show like Ninjago.) Here's a loose translation of the plot:

Quote
"The kingdom of Chima is a magical land in which very advanced species dominate. These creatures speak and act like people.  They use vehicles and machines and live in amazing castles and fortresses. They have claws, teeth, tails, and some are equipped with wings. Now they are at war with each other...

"Chima was once a pure, natural paradise, but heavily armed barbarian species have changed it and now best friends have become sworn enemies of each other. Ruthless weapons destroyed the once sacred temples. Blood-thirsty vehicles battle each other in fatal duels in the forest.

"The creatures are fiercely fighting over a powerful natural resource called Chi. which is the source of life but also unimaginable destruction.

"Only a few brave heroes in Chima understand the true nature of Chi, and that its misuse leads to the total destruction of Chima. The stories of these heroes and those who want to destroy them are known as ’The Legends of Chima'."

Yeah. Whatever. Don't care. On to the sets.

70000: Razcal's Raven Glider

Pretty solid small set. Nice colors, cool slope pieces, and nice use of dark red. The minifig makes the set. Nice armor piece and excellent detail. Probable purchase. The pieces and fig are awesome for the price point. Very nice.

70001: Crawley's Reptile Grabber

Meh. Unique design and I like the snout, but the overall design just doesn't work for me. I don't get the treads on the front, and the big mining vehicle wheels on the back are out of place. Once again though, the figs are amazing. Not sure if it's enough to get me to buy it, but I'll at least consider it if the price is decent.

70002: Lennox's Lion Buggy

The lion head is well designed, but I've seen this chassis design before and it doesn't work well. Not feeling it. Like the brown crocodile guy, but likely not enough to buy the set.

70003: Eri's Eagle Jet

Hell freaking yes. This is brilliant. This thing is designed perfectly. Literally. Can not be improved upon. Definitely going to take a look at this if the price is decent.

70004: Wakz's Wolf Tracker

Solid. Appears to be well designed, but it's nothing very inspiring. Like all of these sets, the figs are magnificent, but this is still a likely pass. It isn't bad, but it isn't all that great either.

70013: Equila's Ultra Striker

Bird tank. Don't like the firing cannon things on the edges of the "wings", but those can be removed. I'm a big fan of these falcon guys and their vehicles. This may be a buy also.

70005: Laval's Lion Quad

Crap. It looks half-finished and that chassis design doesn't work either. Pass.

70006: Cragger's Croc-Boat Centre

Holy. freaken. crap. This is insane. It looks like something right out of Star Fox, and it comes with SIX figures! I tend not to buy big huge sets like this, so I probably won't get this, but I approve of it.

As with the Ninjago collectible spinner game thing, Lego is making a game for this too. It is called Speedorz. It appears to involve using ripcord unicycles to accomplish specific goals. And cards for some reason. Whatever. I don't care about the game. These will serve the same purpose as the Ninjago spinners: a cheaper way to acquire minifigs. I'm only posting one example, but there are quite a few.

So that is Lego's furry theme. My thoughts are pretty mixed. Some of the sets are really damn good, but others are really bland. One consistent factor is the excellent figures though. These may be some of the detailed and well designed figures I've seen in Lego ever. That will likely get me to buy a few sets that I wouldn't otherwise, as well as a Speedorz or two. Overall, a mixed bag, but I hope it does well.

So apparently there's a Lego movie coming out? And the cast is Andy Dwyer, Ron Swanson, Gob Bluth, Morgan Freeman, and Elizabeth Banks?

I'm just saying... maybe his appearance on Man vs. Wild and his role in "Land of the Lost" ruined it for me. But then again, maybe I'm wrong. Hell, a lot of people think Conan O'Brien is funny, but I just can't see that either.

I agree about the Man v Wild episode.  That was terrible.  However most of his movies are pure gold.  I can't wait for Anchorman 2.

Conan is a joke.

Ferrell is always  a take on the same character- with an ensemble cast, he's great, as one of the stars he's hit (Talladega nights) or miss (Night at the Roxbury)

I could take it or leave it. I wasn't allowed to watch it as a kid so I never really grew an affinity for it.

By the way, here is an update on the Paranormal Adventures series. I was going to shoot a new chapter tonight, but as I began to think through the story I was intending to make, I realized that there are a few major aspects of the plot that simply won't work and completely break the story. As such, I'm going to ignore the established storyline with PA, the vampire lord, and Hammonds and redo the concept as a series of one shot stories involving the GoINFU crew. I'll get new material up at some point this summer.

For those hating on Conan, how is this not the funniest thing you've ever seen?

As for Will Ferrrell, I'll agree that he works better in an ensemble cast. His power hour is fantastic though.

not enough chest thumping from Victorino, but I love the police officer in the bullpen celebrating Ortiz's grand slam.
