Storen is gone.

There's a reason they're congratulating him in the interview.

Yeah! He pitched a great ninth!

Sad as hell. Drew wants to stay here. He actually wants to be a Nat and turn us into a winner.

I will be saddened if he's dealt. And I don't think it is ridiculous to feel that way.
Certainly not for a 23 year old anyway.

I'm sure Davey has a ton of impact in this matter. He must be wining to Rizzo (for good reason) about finding some help offensively.

There aren't many guys who truly enjoy being here and playing here as much as Storen. He's an incredibly bright guy, has unbelievable composure and toughness, and could be our closer for the next decade.

If the price is right I understand it but damn if it wouldn't hurt a little.

I want this team to win GD games, and they need a leadoff man to do that.

There was one last year. He wasn't brought back either.

Yeah and now he's the worst regular player in the majors.

I just don't think, in the long run, trading Storen and someone else for Span is worth it. I know relievers are replaceable but Storen is young, cost-controlled and proven. We don't exactly have a ton of bullpen options, either.

The next decade! He'll turn 26 soon and you'll be turning your back on him.

I'm not sold that Span is that guy.

And if you deal Storen who closes? Sure move Clip to closer but that leaves a huge gaping hole in the 7th-8th innings and we have no one even close to comparable to replace him in the Majors or Minors.

Span's OBP is huge. Screw Ankiel.

If Bryce was ready for next season, I doubt they would do this, but they can't go another year+ without a legit centerfielder

People will nag like no other if we deal Storen and a nasty ass combination of Henry Rodriguez and Sean Burnett are pitching the 7th-8th innings the rest of the season and next year too.

If we give up Storen we should get more than just Span back.

If we trade Storen we then have one proven MLB reliever who can be counted on: Clippard. Yikes.

Burnett has gone off the deep end.
H-Rod is wildly inconsistent to bad.
Detwiler is unproven, but could be OK.
Coffey is downright terrible.
Gorzelanny is mediocre to bad.
Mattheus has been solid considering my expectations.

Wilkie and Balester are in AAA but I'm sure we'll just find some bargain-bin bum to use :?

Yunesky Maya strained oblique running bases, probably going on DL.

Welcome to the Majors, Brad Peacock

I don't want Dunn anywhere near Nats park unless it's with a paid ticket or wearing a different uniform. I think he's a cool guy but he SUCKS.

BTW I was dead wrong about Maya. He pitched 5.3 innings. Did fairly well too.

Davey Johnson on Clippard: "Tyler ain't goin nowhere or I'm goin with him." Doesn't believe Storen will be traded but can't say for sure.

I feel really bad for him that it was the stupid bunt that ended his night.

Mets have been shut out four previous times this season. Other starting pitchers: Halladay, Lincecum, Jurrjens, Kershaw. Now Maya?
