Didn't Oswalt say that the Nationals would be a team that he would like to play for before he was traded to Philly?

I fully expect Rizzo to surprise us all with a mssive trade or player signing.  We didn't see the Werth deal coming because Rizzo has a leak-proof FO so we won't know its coming.

I'm guessing most of wish we never saw it happen, either.

I fully expect Rizzo to sign some over-the-hill former beefcake heart throb in the offseason and leave a glaring hole in CF and not sign that Mythical Front-of-the-Rotation Starter (MFRS).

I fully expect to see him chasing Colby Rasmus with a harpoon while yelling "there she blows"

That's not the point.

I hope we bring Antonelli back.  He'd probably do well as a utility type off the bench for teh ML club while Lombardozzi stays in AAA for another year.

They had the chance to keep him, but for whatever reason they left him in the minors

Two interesting articles.

I really hope neither comes to Washington. I think the money should be better spent elsewhere (such as an extension for Zim and Strasburg)

Or, it could easily be spent on both. There's absolutely no reason it should be an either/or deal.

I wouldn't mind bringing back the Capper to set up Storen.

Just my opinion.  I'll merge it back if anyone really objects.

I agree.  If he'd come here to do a job other than closer, I think he'd be a decent, buy-low type.

I also think Edwin Jackson would be a solid pickup, though I think the bidding for him will drive his price up beyond what I'd pay for a #3 type pitcher.  I also like Mark Buerhle.  Even Paul Maholm or Guthrie from the O's would fit in well here.

Definitely agree on this point.

Adam LaRoche said the #Nats didn't promise him that he would be the starting 1B in 2012. One wonders if Prince Fielder is on the radar.

 Prince Fielder -No Way
 Pujol - No Way
I suspect that Rizzo will blind-side everyone with who he ends up signing.
And I think Milone should platoon with Peacock as a starting pitcher or let them fight it out in Spring Training.........yea, I know, sounds crazy, but other teams had done it before.

Move Zim to SS, sign Pujols to play 3B, Fielder to 1B, LaRoche to the bench as PH.  Or LAC.
