I think Coco Crisp would be a really good signing.

All the Prince talk is ridiculous.

I'm getting more on the CJ Wilson bandwagon, honestly.

I've been on the CJ bandwagon since June.

Look at his splits between home and away.

Home - 3.69 ERA with a BA of .246 and 10 HR's in 102.1 IP
Away - 2.31 ERA with a BA of .219 and 6 HR's in 121 IP

The numbers were somewhat similar in 2010.

Put that guy in the NL in a pitcher neutral park and he's a stud IMO.

I now think both Reyes and Wilson are going to the Red Sox.

My best friend is a huge Red Sox fan and he says the budget has been trimmed.  From all the reports he said they'll probably only go after one big ticket guy.  Who knows...

Rizzo also said his top priority at the deadline was a CF'er. That didn't go well.

Sometimes, the price isn't right.  You don't always buy something just because you want it.

There will be plenty of teams going after Wilson.  For the first time, this is a place where winning MAY be a viable option as opposed to just taking the most money.  For a pitcher to be slotted in with Stras & Zimmnn will be an appealing thing.  Not saying we are as attractive as a Boston or NY but instead of being the ugliest chick at the dance we're at least someone that's going to get a long look.

The Red Sux also have a ton of guys hitting FA this year that they'll have to resign.

That's true but really pitching wasn't the problem this year.  Our flaccid offense needs a serious upgrade this offseason.

Nats will be calling the A's about Gio.  You can take that to the bank.

On MLB network Gammons said that the A's will probably be looking to deal one of their starters and they speculated that Gio would look nice between Stras and JZimm.  Also Derek Norris might appeal to Beane as a high OBP guy.

Here is something interesting I picked up while looking at the Oakland roation and seeing who they might Hudson this year. On baseball-reference Brandon McCarthy is listed as a free agent but he isn't on the MLBTraderumors list. He had a good season. Might not be a bad sign.

This. I can see them getting a quality CF via trade or something. Then starting the season with Morse - Unnamed CF - Werth. Then during the year they bring up Harper. With that, they plan to move LaRoche after showcasing him for two months. Then if they succeed (or don't) in trading LaRoche, they move Morse to first and place Harper in LF.

This is how I see it playing out too

I'd love to get Reyes, but I don't want us to give him a 7-year deal.

Reyes would be awesome in my book. It would be the best leadoff candidate out there. The years and our outfield situation still bother me though.

showcasing works best when the player in question doesn't traditionally suck in the first half. We should contend next year, enough showcasing previous mistakes hoping to get something in return

How about 4 with an option?

how about a wakefield deal with one year guaranteed then recurring club options?
