Seriously? MLB balk enforcement is so lenient and they call that?

I'd rather them enforce the rule as written rather than tend toward leniency as long as it's consistent.

Can't believe we go from a perfect game to that.

I think he'll get a chance to be a starter again in the next two years. I'm actually rooting for it (  :couch: ). He still pitches from the windup and has more than two pitches he can throw.

I was talking more about for today but I could see it.  The problem is with the return of Zmmnn and the addition of Strasburg, there may not be much room for him.  Especially since he excels where he is now.

"Fantastic" is subjective.  From my perspective, he's been average at best with an unbelievable throwing arm.  That arm was 'roided up most of the time so even that's debate-able.

Aw come on... His arm was awesome from the get go. I can't argue the fact that he was juicin' with Canseco, but he's been more than an average at best defender. His biggest issue through out the majority of his career was the fact he wasn't much of a game caller, but that has changed some imo.

Me too, I'd rather them be draconian on balks/pick-offs than the passive enforcement that we get. However, I don't view it as consistent if they allow so many pitchers to double-set and have little quirks in their stretch mechanics and then call a tiny hitch like Matheus just had.

Hope Lannan is OK. I was away from the game when it happened. Geesh, and a Balk? This isn't looking good at all.

Have you met Rizzo? He won't make any roster moves, and Bally deserves to be up.

I like Bally as much as the next person... but he certainly hasn't done anything to deserve to be up with the Nats.

How many catching clinics have you attended?  His plate blocking skills were and still are ATROCIOUS and that's a huge, immeasurable part of pitcher confidence.

His arm has been dynamite, but his catching skills always were average, at best.

Is it that time already? Although I'd tend to agree if Lannan is hurt bad. Hopefully he's fine all things considered.
