Batting Matt Stairs instead of Laynce Nix when we needed a single, and then only a flyball to win it.. I don't believe it.

Why not Nix, one of our best hitters?!! Stairs has choked all season

Rizzo needs to offer Stairs a job as a minor league hitting coach or something. Get him out of here. Tonight.

Burnett - no way the Yanks have any interest in that waste of the skin he's in.  DFA, do the right thing and walk away.

EXACTLY, NIX MUCH MORE LIKELY TO HIT A FLY BALL. SO STUPID

Stupid?  When DJ sent up Stairs, a fly ball would've been pretty useless.  So if he was going on that likelihood, well ...

This loss is squarely on Livan Hernandez.
Henry Rodriguez? Sean Burnett? Davey Johnson?

True, but he certainly had some help.

we scored 9 runs?
we only lost by 1?

 nice.

Well, this is a crushing loss. Only positive I can see from it is that we're 3 games from the all star break to recuperate. This would all be null if we come out tomorrow mashing but I'm afraid that that wont happen.

How do you spin this to find any positives?
We took 3 games in a 4 game series.  That's an accomplishment vs. any team, even the bad ones.  Can't really spin today's game positively, though.  It's a bad, bad loss.  They'll bounce back, though.  The Rox have been scuffling lately.

Why won't Rizzo cut the garbage? Burnett and Stairs have long outlasted their welcome here.

we can only hope over the break the braintrust sits down and decides its time to remove the non-producers.

My point was that they should just skip Nats Xtra but Ray Knight must;ve been reprimanded severely because he's putting up the company line after this pile of feces.

Henry Rodriguez? Sean Burnett? Davey Johnson?

This. Livan blew it but Davey should've pulled him after the first three runs he gave up. Then Davey left HRod in. :spaz:

Why not Nix first and then Stairs? Or Nix then Pudge?

freak a fly ball, Nix was much more likely to get a hit.

Batting Matt Stairs against a freaking pitcher who throws nothing but sliders.

Henry Rodriguez? Sean Burnett? Davey Johnson?

Hernandez swung the gate wide open. This game should never have been even remotely close.

Don't tell your brother that. Davey Johnson is an idiot for a manager. He knows nothing.

Why does everyone who fails always "choke" according to you?  Maybe they're just not good.  Maybe most hitters fail about 70% of the time?  Failure does not equal choking.

How the freak did Stairs pop up that slider to 3B? Such a flat hittable pitch. Should have been easy to hit a fly ball on that one.

we're destined to be a .500 team this season which would be an accomplishment.  still too many holes on that roster.  half these guys will be gone when the team contends.  there's no excuse for having Matt Stairs on this roster though - he is horrific
