Well, who would have thought that HROD, Nix, Cora, Hairston would be the best offseason moves?

The odds pretty much get lower the longer you go down that list. Leela and Nix had some glimmer of hope. Cora and Hairston have been shocking. Weirdly Hairston has been a beast in OOTP for me so far.

Great game. Henry Rodriguez and Storen were really good tonight. Mattheus was a fiasco. Gorzelanny was ok.

I couldn't get the facebook connect to work so I gave up. Filling out the web form is too annoying.

Seems like this team is developing a "refuse to lose" attitude.  I like it.

After the first vote, it keeps all the values except the real person verification box.

Debbi was so awkward with that question. Gorzo had the funniest facial expression as she asked it.

what did she ask?

Did his long at-bat cause him to give up the home run to Ramirez.

Yes, it's complete crap when FP says the pitcher is tired from swinging the bat or running the bases. Pitchers get tired from throwing dozens of pitches, for crying out loud. Not running or swinging the bat.

It's worth watching - one of the most compelling and thrilling Nats wins in a long time.

Comparative dates on which the Nationals notched their 45th win, each season:

2005 - 28th June (76th match)*
2011 - 6th July (88th match)
2006 - 26th July (101st match)
2007 - 28th July (104th match)
2010 - 30th July (103rd match)
2008 - 21st August (128th match)**
2009 - 25th August (126th match)

*This win was the start of pretty much the last dance for the '05 Overachievers; this was the opener of a home series against the Pirates which they would sweep, as they would the following series (Cubs at Wrigley); but after this six-match winning streak came the disastrous Fourth of July series against the Mets which started them on their way down, and apart from a couple of four-match winning streaks in August and September they would never regain their early-season form.

**This win (at Philadelphia) snapped a 12-match losing streak.

:uk:

Second straight with less than 20k announced and only the third such since Memorial Day...as was proposed by a poster here yesterday, it seems they don't count group freebies in the announced attendance (there were a couple of sizable groups in the 400's above my section - whatever, it looked well over 20k in the house last night).

[Impeccable taste on your part, by the way.]

Wow, I feel bad for Morse...  he really, REALLY wants to go but there is pretty much no chance :(

Yep - heard on the radio last night after I got home that Victorino's pretty much running away with it.

We need to get into a few post-seasons ourselves to give our lads the national exposure they deserve.

"NO. I MADE A BAD PITCH."

HA!

I understand the context of her question since that's all Carp and FP talked about when Gorzo gave up the HR.   She was simply following their lead.    However, she's still a ditz.
