Is Morse unavailable? For how long? Or is it just a couple of days so he can feel better?

He's too busy in the clubhouse voting himself into the ASG to be bothered to play in this game.

Marshall is their best reliever. By the way I hate how all I heard was CUBBIES during that 7th inning stretch.

Desmond really needs to get going.

How about a bunt?

He has a 4.50 SIERA... I'd be very cautious about deploying him in high-leverage situations in the future.

Nix with the pick!

Yup, as I tried to explain in another thread - catching a low throw at first that bounces is the same skill as another fielder catching a short hop hit ball.

The ball ... and the glove ... don't know how they got there.

Guess the outcome of Desmond's at bat.

Weak grounder to SS.

How long will this organization accept Desmond's offense? 4 years? 10? A career's worth?

The stats line under Desmond's name says he has 3 HRs.  For the life of me, I can't remember when he hit those...

Urgh... there is a thread somewhere here where I went into detail about it.  Marquis and I had an animated discussion.  Maybe the Stats thread?

SIERA is like FIP but a slightly better predictor, especially of extreme pitchers.  For example, it nails guys like Clippard and Hudson a lot better than traditional metrics do.
