They're saying Bruney for an inning and then when Peavy is warmed up, Peavy.

Watch us lose this game 1-0 now.  Just kidding.

Brian Bruney? I guess their pen is tapped out, this should be an interesting game.
I wonder if they use Humber and call up someone from AAA for tomorrow?

Jake Peavy coming in

Brian Bruney!!

 :lmao:

Has the pitching advantage ever turned so fast in our favor?

After that bullpen marathon last night, both teams sorely needed long outings from their starters.

Peavy just pitched two days ago.

This is bad news for baseball, though.
John Danks took a line drive to the head and kept playing. Really sad to see him leave a ballgame like this, now.

:(

Good for the Nats, sure, but still not something you want to happen.

This could serve as his side session.

It looked like an hip injury, he was really wincing.

Well he hurt his side today... not hit in the head.

Right.  I wonder how many "innings" a starter like Peavy typically throws.  3?

The line drive to the head happened in another game.

I KNOW HE WASN'T HIT IN THE HEAD.

I'm saying it's sad that a dude gets his hip injured one game after playing THROUGH getting hit in the head.

It's like the time Jordan Zimmermann took a pitch to his jaw - imagine him playing through that and then going down with a groin pull or something.

They will let Humber pitch today and DL Danks tomorrow and bring up Humber's replacement from AAA to start tomorrow. They were warming up Humber last night, so I really think Ozzie might go this route. Who knows though.

I'm back on the PC - turns out there was a part that came loose in the old power supply unit.  Gonna try logging onto MLB.tv now and catch up.

Did I miss anything?

I'd say around 3 but I wouldn't be totally shocked to see him go 4 and just cut his next start a little short figuring the bullpen would be fresh by then.

So the Washington Nationals would be Jake Peavy's side session?  Is that what they're saying?
