He had Rollins, Utley, Howard, Victorino, Ibanez, etc to take the pressure off him in Philly.

I never realized how inconsistent he was until he got here. I mean he's inconsistent even from AB to AB. No rhyme or reason.

He's having a very mediocre year and he routinely has at bats where he can't do anything with hittable pitches high and on the outer third (i.e. pitches a good hitter should normally destroy).

The Mariners are one of the worst hitting teams in MLB.

You mean, like sometimes he gets hits, sometimes walks, and sometimes nothing? Sounds like every other batter to me.

Getting hits/walks/outs etc is fine but his approach is what I meant. His approach/ABs are so inconsistent.

would i like his average and power to be up? of course, in that aspect he's been a disappointment.

i know he's had better second half numbers in the past, so i'm hoping he starts to heat up. but apparently the clubhouse loves him and i like what i have seen defensively and drawing walks.
