The Nationals have no intension of bringing the fences in to accommodate the hitters, and without mentioning names, team president Tony Tavares said that players should stop worrying about the fences and start winning games.

"People ought to worry about doing their job instead of worrying about what the dimensions of the stadium are," Tavares said. "Anybody that is speculating that those numbers are wrong is wrong. We are talking about wins and losses. We win more games than we lose. End of story. This is not Colorado, Cincinnati or Detroit, it's RFK Stadium."

I agree with that...

Players have no right to nag about how far away or close the fences are. It's not like the other teams they have to play get shorter fences for their at-bats at RFK. I mean seriously, just play baseball the way it was meant to be played. Hit singles, doubles, triples, a few homeruns, play defense, pitch, and do the little things that teams that play home games in tiny stadiums can't or won't do. Players nowadays are too worried about stats and not about winning, and it's a sad fact.

I could not have said it better myself!!!!  Both teams are playing with the same dimensions so deal with it and stop nagging.  Besides, Morgan Ensburg hit a homer last night that might still be going if it weren't for the stadium walls.

You can't change the dimensions of the fences during the season anyway, or at least not intentionally, so why are they worrying about it?

Well, to be fair most of the complaining started with the slump so grumpy guys are gonna complain about something.

Gotta think an offseason priority for the Nats will be one of those guys who mashes the ball close to 500 feet on 2 outta 3 HR's.

We saw Richie Sexson do it (not that I especially would want him) and Ensberg (sure take him, not that he's going anywhere).

Betcha Bowden's got a list of guys he wants that includes Willy Mo Pena, Dunn (not my favorite) and everybody else who can hit the ball 450 feet.

We need more guys like Jamey Carroll and Brian Schneider.  Small-ball guys.  Screw power hitters.

Yep.
Think the Whitey Ball Cards. Lots of singles-doubles hitters with speed and one guy who can hit the ball out of any park. All we need is our Jack Clark (or Hondo or Willie Stargell).
