Maya has ZERO chance to be a starter in the majors. Just realize that so your investment isn't a total loss and try to make him a reliever. He probably can't be a reliever either but...we know he can't be a starter.

Why won't this front office get real about these kind of things?

Don't know if you want the serious answer but I'm sure they're embarrassed and the money we paid will carry him for a little while longer than it would if he was just another guy.

I just find it pathetic that a pitcher who is very hittable but is supposed to be a control pitcher would walk an opposing pitcher in a 1-0 game in the 5th inning. And as ray said, there has to be something wrong with him. And not physically.

I've seen pitchers walk other pitchers before. It does happen.

And I've never understood it. Just drill the ball right down the middle!

Let's just be honest here - my opinion is that Maya is a fraud that's probably going to be exposed as being in his mid thirties and that's totally washed up. He MAY have been good in Cuba but in MLB he's a right handed "control guy" that can't hit 90 and won't finish the fifth.

Yup. The whole sequent was predictable. Maya was going to fail the next time through the lineup, Jimbo was going to try and stretch it to get a L/L matchup, and Slaten would crap the bed. We've seen this movie.

If Captain Leather Pants couldn't get fired without the FBI stepping in... Rizzo sure as hell isn't going to be shown the door.
