There are 37 players in MLB with 9 or more HR's. Only 9 of them have a higher BA than Nix. So what if Nix's average drops! We need his power, just like the teams with those other 37 players. NONE of them are being benched. Only Washington does that.

Do we have another outfielder on the bench... who has 9 home runs? If not, PLAY NIX. Let's stop losing 100 games per year.
