Elbow inflamation, retro to Tuesday. Will need a starter for Sunday. Meyers/Detwiler/Maya were names mentioned on twitter. Detwiler would be on schedule for Sunday. Maya would be on 5 days rest as well.

Kilgore mentioned because of the day off yesterday, they could pitch Livan on normal rest on Sunday and Marquis on Monday and not actually need a 5th starter until Tuesday.

Meyers would be in line to pitch Tuesday. Maya is probably who it will be though. Detwiler has been atrocious

Detwiler is cool with me because I am forever an optimist and I want to believe he has what it takes to stay up here. This was his big chance and he has really messed up... I feel for the kid and I want him to succeed. If not him, I want Meyers. If not now when?

It was also mentioned that Gaudin could be moved to the 60-day DL, that would allow one of the non-40 man roster pitchers to be signed.

Was Gaudin really hurt that badly?

EDIT - Actually, we don't need to move Gaudin to the 60-day DL. A spot was opened up when we lost Broderick so we only have 39 men on the 40-man roster.

I think Kimball was already on the 40-man roster when when was called up. I didn't see anything about his "contract being purchased" which would have had to have been done if he wasn't on the 40-man. Also, I counted the number of players on the 40-man roster from multiple sources and unless I missed one, it was always 39.

Just give us Meyers. He seems like he could be a good pitcher (I've said this with Detwiler and Maya too). I haven't seem him yet so I don't know but the other two I think would be risky with their early struggles.

Tom Gorzelanny has been placed on DL. Collin Balester is up for today. Yunesky Maya expected to be called up to take Gorzelanny's turn in the rotation.

I see where Gorzelanny is headed to the DL but nothing about Balester.
