Spidey - Funny you mention Drew Bledsoe at the tail end of his career and Mallett. I've said it before, but a huge difference in Brady and Bledsoe was that Bledsoe always had the incredibly gifted arm while Brady had to get by on game management and judgment before he developed the arm. You look at Brady's second year (the year he took over for Drew) and the following year and he would not throw deep. Bledsoe, OTOH, was throwing 70 passes in a game (I think) v Minnesota his second year. Bledsoe always thought he could throw the ball anywhere and get it in regardless of the coverage because he had always been doing it all along. Just relied on his gifted arm. This led to his high interception rate even in his prime. Long winded way of saying, Mallett and Bledsoe is a heck of a comparison. The only question is can watching Brady for a few years and listening to Belichek penetrate his skull enough so that he can take the next step, or is he what he is. Even at that, if he gives the Pats what Bledsoe did his for a 6 year stretch, that's still damn good.
