If they're not teeing off on Blanton this is going to be a long, painful season.
Fixed.

So, I was looking up the synonyms for "crappy" because I wanted to post something all clever and all, but the synonym list is REALLY long, so screw that

Our record will be

Crappy

Let's see:

- Morse in a slump or the real one has shown up now that he's facing real MLB pitchers
- LaRoche is probably about to go on the DL for a pre-signing injury
- Our starters are due for a rude awakening
- The only thing our bench threatens is the Sizzling Express on M Street
- Our "beefy" defense is shaky at best

We'll be lucky to get .300 with the Z man out.

Yep. :?

I'm just looking at the track record of the Nats medical staff to underreport and under treat every injury....

You're probably right. Not looking forward to being without the ZMan for a third of the season, though.

And I bet LaRoche is on his way to the disabled list.  That is a killer blow losing our 3 and 4 hole hitters.

Losing our 3 and 4 hitters should mean terrible, but knowing this team, I'll go with a week or so of .800 ball followed by total collapse

I'm not so sure that the Nationals will tank without Ryan Zimmerman.

I remember reading a baseball year in preview magazine and when it came to the Nationals it weighed the pros and the cons for the upcoming year. For the pros it listed Ryan Zimmerman...and that was it.

I don't feel we are that kind of team anymore. Don't get me wrong, Ryan Zimmerman is a Nationals legend and is one of the best, if not THE best, 3rd basemen in all the league, but I honestly do think that we have some talent defensively now that can take some of the damage.

If Desmond improves a little bit, the Desmond Espinosa combo is going to be great, and with LaRoche in 1st we finally have someone with some range. I don't think I have to remind everyone how 'graceful' Dunn was...

His bat I'll miss and his flair with the ball I will, but luckily I think we will be okay until he comes back.

I dont know WHATS up with Morse. Huge let down this season, along with Desmond in the first spot.

As has been proven time and time again, Ryan Zimmerman is not a winner.

Um, as in not a Silver Slugger or Golden Glove winner? As in not an All-Star? As in not being considered one of the best 3rd basemen in the GAME?
