OMG.  The Orioles beat the Yankees 12-5 yesterday!  Maybe Flanny was looking down on them giving the pitcher some advice!

As for Thome, I was sad when he left the Indians.  I don't know, he just seemed to fit there!  Of course I'm a little partial after having attended college in OHIO for 2 years!  I want the Tribe to win the AL Central and Texas the AL West!

Anybody but the Yankees for the AL EAST!

Dirk Hayhurst got released. Don't know if he can pitch, but he's the best writer in baseball for sure.

I thought all of the stupid O's fans said MacPhail was the savior and was going to turn them into a winner? :lmao: The O's are a huge mess and are probably only behind the Astros' as baseball's worst franchise.

Quote
08:10 AM ET 08.31 | Andy MacPhail chose to stay mum on his future amid speculation he's already decided. [MacPhail], president of baseball operations, has reached a decision on his future in the Baltimore Orioles organization, but plans to wait until season's end before announcing his intentions. "Let's just get to the end of the year," MacPhail told USA TODAY, "and see what unfolds. We'll see. We'll see." MacPhail, according to two high-ranking Orioles officials, is expected to resign from his general manager's position. The officials are not authorized to discuss the decision publicly because it is not official. ... "I know there's a lot of speculation," said MacPhail, who's in the final year of his contract, "but that comes with the territory."

how many times do i have to come on here and say they sank or swam with the young rotation.  he rolled the dice and it didn't pay off.  but look at their offense.  i'd rather have their offense (567 runs compared to our 513, AVG is 15 points higher, OPS over 30 points higher).  but i forgot, PA, our nats are perfect!!!

You trashed the Nats moves and kissed bird ass. Nix, Hairston, Livan, Wang, dumping Dunn, the Gorzo trade, those all worked out.

lmfao, Mike Moustakas has 1 HR in 248 ABs with the Royals and a pedestrian .234 BA. So much for prospect lists meaning anything at all. This guy was supposed to be an elite hitter. :lmao:

Yup.  It'll be interesting to see what hot prospect flames out next.

If it's Bryce Harper, sportsfan won't be writing "lmfao This guy was supposed to be an elite hitter. :lmao: "

If it's SF, he'll be writing that he's still an elite prospect until he turns 26, at which point he'll be a "garbage ass bum :whip:"

Isn't Moustakas only 22?

He's been hitting .438/1.023 the past two weeks and .284/.664 the past month, btw (avs/ops).  do I win the small sample size derby?

was i wrong about the rotation?  yes.  but i guess hardy/reynolds/vlad were pathetic pieces of trash this year.

and when did i hate on hairston/livo/wang/gorzo?  most of those signings/moves i said on this very message board i liked.  even after nix showed he was good this spring i applauded that deal.

stop acting like i hated everything the nats did.  at least i can admit i was wrong in the aspect of the o's rotation (but the stats prove i'm right about their offense); you have such a strong agenda to defend the lerners no matter what.  wah wah wah.

Role Model Cliff Lee!

Lee grounds to second base, doesn't run to first. In fact, barely leaves the box. Just says the hell with it and goes back to the dugout.

This week the Astros also grounded into a triple play... with one out. A couple baserunning miscues and the other team decided to throw out an extra runner after the inning was over just to show off.
