The future is now for the Nats.

G-d help us if the Redskins ever get mediocre again, we'll never get any respect or coverage.

Why the hell are we comparing the Nats to the Redskins?

Because some moron said the McNabb trade was a bigger event in DC than Strasburg's debut. It spiraled from there.

Edit: I'm not calling the poster that posted the article a moron. Just the author of the article.

It was a bigger event. A lot more people talked about it than Strasburg's debut. I guarantee you if let both of them walk the streets in DC, McNabb gets noticed more despite wearing a helmet during his games.

The Nats can remedy that by becoming relevant. But that won't happen unless the owners stop being cheap.

And I disagree about which was a bigger event in DC this year. It doesn't matter that McNabb is more recognizable or the Redskins are more popular. We already had this argument a couple pages ago, though.

This either/or crap regarding the Nats or Skins is so stupid. In real sports towns, people root for all the home teams. Maybe one day DC will get there.

Can we compare them to the Washington Generals?

How about the Washington Federals?

Ray Jauch... In Bill Ladson's world, that's how he always called Jon Rauch.

And Washington Post has Strasburg as the number one sports moment in DC.

Without looking, I'm gonna guess that #2 is the lottery/John Wall?

I'd say it was McNabb coming to the Skins.

2, 3, 4, 5  involve Haynesworth, Shanahan, McNabb, and Ovie, in no particular order.

Why would Haynesworth be a top moment? Isn't that something you want to forget?

It's more of a list of the biggest sport news.  To my shock, the 3 football stories were only 5,6, and 7, with 2, 3, and 4 being Ovie and out of the playoffs, hitting the Wall lottery, and Gil's guns.

Oh I see. In that case, #2 is probably the Caps losing in the playoffs.

It's not surprising, the stories are centered around stars and the Redskins don't have any right now. If McNabb had ended better (for example if the skins were heading to the playoffs now), his coming might have been a higher story
