why not nick johnson?  I remember him as having a solid glove, and a fan favorite.  I'd rather see that than carlos pena hit .180.  also wouldnt mind seeing jorge cantu.

It really depends on how close management thinks Chris Marrero is to the majors. If they think he'll be ready next year, they'll probably go one year for LaRoche or Pena. If not, I can see them trading for Loney.

The '07 version of Pena would work for me.

The difference is you would actually see Carlos Pena as Johnson would be at home healing his injury of the week.

That should net the team 10 wins in the standings.  :?

I'd be happy with LaRoche or moving Morse with an OF brought in.

Rizzo has time but he needs to step up and make the offseason work.

I wouldn't mind moving Morse to first if we brought in an OF Bat.

I don't think it would cost us too much to get Lucas Duda or Daniel Dorn. Both are high OBP guys with pop.

I'm guessing Pena will be the guy we get, though.

Prefer a lefty who can play a second position and who would split time with Morse, but only Kotsay does that and I don't want Kotsay. Overbay might be my second choice due to D, with Morse full time and an OF pick up my third choice.  Wigginton would give the position flexibility but is RH. Nice pick up for the bench, but I would put him lower on the list. Berkman or LaRoche I would not say WTF.

Dorn is an interesting option.  Do you play him in the OF with Morse at 1B or the other way around?

I think it would be better to put Dorn at first. Either way would work for me, though.

I doubt we make that random trade, but I do think we're going to make 2+ trades this offseason.

Interesting.  I could definitely see some of the relief depth, one of the redundant SS, maybe a C if Flores looks like his shoulder is really healthy, the myriad of AAAA SP and Hammer being floated around in trade scenarios.

I really think 1B comes via FA for a 1 or 2 year deal and the SP/OF issues get addressed via trade.

Some of us realize that the offseason is 3-4 months long.
