The Nats bullpen has been great lately.
Nats Bullpen:
Last 23 innings pitched, only 3 earned runs given up (1.17 ERA)

The Nationals need a 4th triple to tie the NL record for Most Triples in a Single Game, which has stood since 1897! The AL record is only 3, so no one ever had that many in this city.  I guess it's too late now...

Record Lg Name(s) Team(s) Data
Most In A Game
 AA George Strief -   Philadelphia 4, 06-25-1885
AL Too Many To List - 3
NL Bill Joyce - New York - 4, 05-18-1897

F-Rod is in. Is it bad that I expect to lose when he pitches?

That was one guy that had 4 triples in a game.  Is that the team record also?

Hopefully with a 4 run cushion and only 3 outs to get.  Even F-ROD can handle this.

Good catch - that was individual records.  We are not even close:
Most In A Game By One Team is 9 (nine).  The AL record is only 6.
NL Bal (vs Cle) 9, 09-03-1894
I remember reading about Baltimore baseball history, but I don't remember what became of the Baltimore team that was playing in 1894.

Hmmm, F-Rod gives up a run and Frank says - maybe not.
Chief coming in.

On the subject of triples, they used to have huge ballparks back in the day, and very few home runs.  Triples were far more common than they are now.

A better question would be, when was the last time a team had 3 triples in a game?  Might have been a couple of years past, just a guess.
