The trade route for a seasoned Veteran will have his "No Trade Clause" to deal with as well. The Nats will have to win with a rotation of Strasburg, J Zimmermann,Marquis, Lannan, Stammen in 2011/2012 until we get a " Cliff Lee" type of starter to come here.

Maya replaces one of those.  Detwiler in the mix if his hip is healthy.

I guarantee if the Nationals offered Cliff Lee 6/$180m, he'd sign so fast the sparks from the pen would burn a hole in the contract.  They won't of course but it's possible to overcome the "won't play for the Nationals" contention.

Reality, isn't it?

If Solis signs he could be ready mid-season. Wang could come surging out of nowhere. Olsen could re-sign at a discount. Marrero could be flipped for a starter.

I wonder if  the Nats offered more money to TEX than he got from the Yanks and he still said " No way"

Yes they did.  He wanted to sign longterm with his favorite team and he did so.

There isn't much more you can do with 200 million that you can't do with 180 million.

He could use that extra $20m to pay for the REALLY high class hookers.

Great hit by Adam
The Hammer is in some serious pain. It's time to send him to the DL.

Now we get something going, just in time for Marquis to come back out and give up a grand slam. I have no faith in a lead of any amount with this version of Marquis on the mound.
